BIOSPARK – A New PRO CIVIS Project, Continuing the BIObec project
The PRO CIVIS Foundation is part of the consortium for the project “BIOSPARK – Skills Promotion and Awareness for Regenerative Knowledge,” which has received funding from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking program. Together with 17 other partners from across Europe, we will build a network of bio-education centers. A strong foundation was established during the recently completed BIObec project, and the primary goal of BIOSPARK is to leverage the potential developed during that time.
BIOSPARK is set to become a true turning point for Europe regarding the competencies and efficiency of circular bio-based systems. Building on the results of the BIObec project and existing initiatives such as the EBU Alliance and BIOEAST UniNet, BIOSPARK will establish a Pan-European network of 27 Bioeconomy Education Centres (BBECs), covering all EU-27 member states. These centers will serve as regional pillars for education, training, and mutual learning, while as a network, they will create a European reference hub for skills related to the bioeconomy and circularity.
